🧠 AI.HUB Newsletter: AI as Mayor

Hi Humans,

We are back after the summer holidays! And while we’ve been relaxing, AI sure hasn’t, so let's take off our swimming goggles and dive into what's happening in the AI world.

Weekly AI Wrap-Up :

  • AI as Mayor in Wyoming

  • Story, an AI-startup that uses blockchain technology for creators to store, protect, and monetize their intellectual property with embedded licensing terms raised $80 million in a round that valued the firm at $2.25 billion.

AI as Mayor

In a fascinating turn of events, Wyoming voters are faced with a unique proposition: electing a mayoral candidate who plans to let an AI bot govern the local government.

Victor Miller, a mayoral candidate in Cheyenne, Wyoming, has proposed to govern the city with the help of his customized AI bot, Vic.

This “hybrid approach” to governance involves the AI bot analyzing data and providing practical solutions while Miller oversees and ensures all actions are legally executed.

Why It Matters

This could be a game-changer in the world of politics and governance, where AI technology starts doing the heavy lifting in decision-making.

If Miller and Vic rock this election, it could open the floodgates for other places to hop on the AI governance bandwagon.

Imagine cities around the globe showcasing human and AI collaborations, mixing human empathy with computational genius. Sure, there are hard questions about ethics and legal matters to ponder, but the thought experiment is truly fascinating!
