Are you curious about how generative AI can transform the way you develop and enhance your products? Then this article is definitely for you.

Annika gives us lots of practical tips and insightful strategies for aligning AI enhancements with user needs.

The text-to-video battle

There are a few players on the field when it comes to creating unique and creative videos using text prompts.

The two most well-known being OpenAI with its Sora (there seems to be no AI space OpenAI doesn’t compete in!) and Google with its Veo. However, the less well-known Chinese company Kuaishou is a super interesting contestor with its Kling.AI.

The AI-generated video ‘Man eats noodles’ by Kling.AI has taken the internet by storm because it so clearly shows how far we have come from the earlier AI-generated video, “Will Smith Eating Spaghetti”. That one was made all the way back in 2023.

Why It Matters

The tech behind these tools is super impressive and it is fun to be able to realize all your weird video ideas.

But on the social media platform X, a growing number of people are worried that “Hollywood is dead” and everyone will be unemployed. Hence, the big strike last year.

However, we are still very far from that scenario. The tools are still filled with hallucinations, weird physics, 3D rendering, and many other issues.

That said, text-to-video will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the film, TV, and video industry. Many production houses already use generative AI in their production pipeline for graphics, visual effects, dubbing, deepfakes, and postproduction.

But a feature-length film made by AI (and worth watching) is still miles away.
